Institute Events


The Institute of Philosophy's events are conferences, lectures and seminars. All events are open to everyone. 


CONFERENCES AND PUBLIC LECTURES

Among the Institute's own events are one-day and two-day conferences and public lectures. These events are sometimes organised in collaboration with other philosophical groups. SEMINAR SERIES

The IP holds a lunchtime seminar seriesto be held on the Ground floor of Senate House south block, on Thursdays from 12.30pm until 2pm.

Here is a list of past seminars.

Lunchtime seminars are open to all, and you may bring your lunch to these meetings. Occasionally we will be able to make speakers' papers for the Thursday lunchtime seminar available on-line before and/or after their talk.

AESTHETICS FORUM

A series of public seminars on aesthetics here.

LOGIC AND METAPHYSICS FORUM

A series of public seminars on logic and metaphysics here.

SENSES RESEARCH FORUM

A series of public seminars on sensory research here as part of the Centre for the Study of the Senses (CenSes).


SUPPORTED EVENTS

The Institute also supports events which are primarily the responsibility of other organisations and institutions. A list of this year's supported events is here. Inquiries about supported events should be addressed to the listed event organiser, and not to the IP.



ANNUAL CONFERENCE FUNDING

UK departments can now apply to organise a conference with the Institute under an annual scheme being launched for 2009-10. The conference theme for the first year will be Ethics. For further application details see (deadline 2 March 2009).
